Best Ways to Cook Fresh Hangi Pork

Traditional Hangi / Earth Oven: This cut becomes deeply flavourful and tender as it slow cooks with native woods and steam.

Oven Roast / Slow Cook: Preheat oven to 150–160 °C. Roast or slow cook in a covered dish for 2–3 hours with root vegetables for succulent results.

Crockpot / Slow Cooker: Add stock, herbs and vegetables; cook low for 6–8 hours until tender and falling apart.

Got pork belly instead

Not sure what happened, but I seem to have got pork belly instead. I am not unhappy about that, it has been awhile since we had pork belly. Was actually going to chuck the hangi pork into a slow cooker boil up with some water cress for a change. But however, I will use some chinese glaze on this piece of belly and see how we go! Chinese glazed pork belly on rice. Yum yum!

Though there was a black plastic/rubber debris inside the pack together with the meat. Probably from the glove of the person who was handling it at that time.
