Braised Honey & Balsamic Lamb Shanks
This succulent yet sophisticated meal is perfect for winter days. It is so easy that it could be prepared under 5 minutes, and you are set to go!
1 packet of Lamb Shanks
1 brown onion, quartered
2 tbsp. plain flour
1 tbsp. mixed herbs
1 cup of broth
¼ cup of honey
½ cup of balsamic vinegar
½ cup of red wine *optional
Combine all the ingredients except for the shanks and onion, mix well.
Place the onion and lamb shanks in a slow cooker, then pour the mixture in.
Cover and cook for 4-5 hours on high.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rooted vegetables.
Mixed herbs can be replaced with other herbs preferred, such as thymes, rosemary and etc, both fresh and dried.
This recipe can also be prepared with a pressure cooker or in the oven.
